large amount of caterpillars

I live in southeast Ohio and have been collectiong a larger than usual number of caterpillars. I have swampy milkweed, orange and yellow butterfly weed and plain old wild milkweed in my flower bed and they have had a large number of caterpillars lately. I didn't see that many in the spring but the butterflies that hatched from the first batch have been busy. I don't know if I will have any plants left after the caterpillars are finished. But that is one of the reasons I grow all the different plants.
