Praying Mantis in Eastern USA

Postby Alec » Wed Sep 27, 2006 4:15 pm

I found a brown, 3 inch long praying mantis today. How many times should I feed it? Once a day? Twice a day? Once a week? :cheesy:

Alec,

You should feed it every 2 days or so. Keep it at 20- 24*C. If it is not yet an adult, make sure to keep it at at least 40% humidity other wise it will get stuck in its molt. There are a few species native to US. If you can make a pic, I would be able to ID it.

hey thanks but I squished it after it ate one of my favorite Wooly Bear Cats. I had it for a month and it was really getting ahold on my heart, so after I found his mutilated body lieing there, I squashed the mantis witha brick.
