Description: The 1,864 acres at Sky Meadows State Park offer a variety
of habitats. As a result, butterfly diversity at the park is high.
Twenty different species of butterflies are commonly found at the
park, with another 44 species spotted on occasion. With so many types
flitting about, it's no wonder that butterfly enthusiasts love coming
to Sky Meadows to watch Nature's colorful acrobats! If you would like
to learn more about butterflies, or are looking to walk with
like-minded aspiring lepidopterists, join our Volunteer Naturalists
for a guided walk to look for winged wonders along the beautiful park
trails. Bring binoculars and water and wear comfortable shoes. For a
checklist of Sky Meadows Butterflies, please inquire at the Visitor
Center.

Description: The great diversity of flora and fauna at Sky Meadows is
one of the park's great wonders. Knowing what you're looking at while
you're out on the trails can be a daunting task! That's why we offer
our "Naturalist Stroll" programs. Each month, from April through
September, you can join a Volunteer Naturalist for a casual walk in
the park. These nature guides can help you indentify the things you
see and teach you to use field guides for future discovery hikes.
