I'm raising Io moths

Postby David Calhoun » Wed Jul 20, 2011 2:06 pm

I caught an Io moth and she laid abunch of eggs. About 40 hatched and now I'm feeding them.
Tried a variety of leaves recommended in my caterpillar book-sassafras is what they took to .
They're getting bigger. If they pupate, I'll send pix. If anyone wants to offer any advice I'll listen.

I have never raised them, but here's some info:

Species Automeris io - Io Moth (Bug Guide)

They winter over in leaf litter.

This is a very good website. Love all the info and pictures.
