I think that I have the unit connected accoring to directions, but on the intial attempt to download data from the button, I got a message at the bottom of the screen that says "Error reading data". should I start over and try to reinstall again?
I am working with a Dell Dimension 4300s
Windows XP 2002
Intel Pentium4 1.60GHZ

Hey Don - sorry I missed this posting! Did you get things figured out? Make sure you are doing the following to retrieve the data from your logger:

(1) plug the usb adapter/probe unit into your computer

(2) launch the OneWire Viewer software

(3) connect the probe to the logger

(4) selecting the logger in the device list

(5) move to the right and click on the tab labeled "Thermochron"

(6) move down to the set of tabs labeled "Status, Temperatures, Histogram, and Alarm Log" and click on the "Temperatures" tab

Pleae let me know if you are still experiencing difficulties.

Thanks Jim. I´ll try that when I gat back home. I am currently in Mexico City on an exchange program with 16 fifth and sixth garde students from my school back in Massachusetts. We went to El Rosario last week and it was fabulous. I have been doing a little monarch education down here at our host school because the people down here can go see the monarchs, but they don´t see the complete metamorphosis that we see up north. I also did a few tagging demonstrations with photos from my classroom from last fall.
It has been a great trip.
