If you're in... or interested in... New Zealand you can get into New Zealand's very own website for the Monarch butterfly, http://www.monarch.org.nz

It was started after developers announced they were purchasing Butterfly Bay, one of the most well known overwintering sites (in Northland). We were more concerned when we saw the proposal -- not once was the Monarch butterfly mentioned! So we formed a charitable trust to raise money so we could have an entomologist prepare evidence on behalf of the Monarch butterfly.

We hope that we can influence the powers that be to write in some protection of the Monarch into whatever modified proposal is accepted. Take a look at our website http://www.monarch.org.nz to see where we've got to! And please feel free to join us, if you can.
