I found this website while researching Monarch for my little girl whose is in Kindergarden this year and just had to write. See about 9 months ago we bought 7 acres of land and move our mobile home onto it. A few months after that my daughter found a live Monarch caterpiler -- she loves bugs of all kinds and wants to keep them all for pets. So naturally she wanted to keep the caterpiler -- we kept it in a plastic box with holes for ventilation and the day after we found it it made its crysilis -- it was so beautiful and about a week or so later it emerged as a butterfly. My daughter thought it was so neat. We took some pictures and the let it go on its way. We also found 3 other crysilis'. I never dreamed that she would be lucky enough to find another one for us to was go from caterpiler to butterfly but after arriving home today (4/25/05) she found one. I found this funny because we had just come from our local Walmart were we had bought flower seeds to plant to attract both butterflies and hummingbirds. My daughter is so excited that she gets to have the chance to "raise" a monarch caterpiller again. The Kindergarden classes in school raise them for release, so she gets to see one there too.
