Tagging Licence??

Postby dannus plex » Wed Aug 27, 2008 1:03 pm

I live in Ontario, Canada and have been tagging for 10 years. A few years ago a colleague informed me that the Ontario Ministry of Natrual Resources (MNR) requires that we obtain a "Wildlife Scientific Collector's Authorization Licence" each year for the tagging season. It does not cost anything but each year I begrudgingly do it. Still, it seems to be a bit much for just tagging Monarchs. Anyone else have to be "legal' to tag????? :?

No tagging permits that I know of in the USA. Just permits for transporting butterflies across state lines.
