Tagging in NH

Postby neily42go » Fri Sep 21, 2007 8:55 pm

I have Tagged 14 Monarchs in the last 2 weeks. Six just today. The weather has been warm and is expected to last for another few days.

I have another 17 still in chrysalis stage and 3 cats. Two are in 5th instar and 1 looks like 3rd instar but is already in J stage. Not sure what is up with that.

I've reared over 200 this year... it's been interesting as I have not seen more than a dozen butterflies in the area. The milkweed patches I have in the area were very active.

I've been very lucky this year and have only had 1 in J stage that did not make it. So far all in chrysalis stage have emerged and flown away.

This is the first year I have tagged over 10 + years of rearing. I'll be interested to see results.
